06/26/2010  Xx Chromosome at Blue Gallery!
I am so excited about this show, Xx Chromosome, curated by Tuesday Schmidt! I delivered my artwork to the lovely Blue Gallery and ran into Shannon Gaines Bowman (whose cheeky work will also be in the show!) while I was there - it was a fortuitous sighting!! Come to the opening this First Friday, July 2nd!!

02/25/2010  Updated! Again!
-It is looking more and more like the 2010 Xx Chromosome group show will be moved to the month of June, I will post information when details get ironed out.
-One last bit of news, I am proud and delighted to have been a part of Peregrine Honig's stellar WIDOW project with Landfall Press: http://www.landfallpress.com/news.htm
It's a gorgeous collector's piece and features the artistic contributions of so many gifted artists - not the least of which - a stunning monolith of Peregrine Honig's gorgeous body of work.
-Big thanks to Emmalee Schaumburg of www.schaumburgphotography for taking on the daunting task of shooting the framed pieces - I am so happy with the way the images turned out!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who came out and supported my exhibition at the Frame Gallery! I am so pleased with the show and really appreciated all of the excellent feedback I have gotten from you! I am having slides re-shot so I will be posting images of the paintings in the next few weeks, please check them out!

01/05/2010  Consumption closing this weekend
Hi, thanks so much for checking in!

I can't believe it has been seven weeks since I opened my exhibition, Consumption - after months of working insane hours, (benevolently) neglecting my family and not sleeping much at all - the time just feels like it has flown by and now it's run is coming to a close this weekend. In case you missed it, this is the final week to catch my show at the Frame Gallery - please stop by and have a look if you haven't already!

Consumption - new work by Jane Almirall

Exhibition opens tonight (6:00-9:00 p.m.) and will run through January 2010. Please drop by and check out the new work - all paintings are gouache and watercolor on hand-cut paper. I have two pieces in a group show at the Jan Weiner art space (4800 Liberty St., KCMO 64112, 816.931.8755, www.janweinergallery.com). The opening reception will be held on May 1st, from 5-8 p.m. The show will run through August 28, come have a look!
